DEWEY G. CORNELL is a Professor of Clinical and School Psychology at the University of Virginia. He is a Director for the Virginia Youth Violence Project and has developed guidelines that are used around the country for schools to assess student threats of violence.

GLENN W. MUSCHERT is Associate Professor of Sociology at Miami University. His scholarly focus has largely been on incidents of school violence. He has attempted to unify the various bodies of knowledge and the vast amount of research conducted on school shootings.

DAVID MUELLER is Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at Boise State University. His areas of research include juvenile violence, school-based crime prevention and intervention efforts, and crime policy

RANDY BORUM is a Professor of Behavioural and Community Sciences as the University of South Florida. He has served on the U.S. Secret Service as well as the U.S. Department of Education Safe School Initiative, which studies school-centred assaults in the United States.

SHANE R. JIMERSON is a Professor of Counselling, Clinical, and School Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He has been largely involved in initiatives regarding school crisis prevention, intervention, and response.

JAMES P. MCGEE is the Director of Psychology and Forensic Services at Sheppard and Enoch Pratt Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He is also the Chief Psychologist of the Baltimore County Police Department and the Director of the Critical Incident Program for the Maryland State Police.

JAMES ALAN FOX is a Professor of Criminal Justice and Professor of Law, Policy, and Society at Northeastern University. He has served for both state and federal officials, including President Clinton and Attorney-General Janet Reno on issues of school violence and safety.
